March 2007 - NEW VI DATA CENTRE

March 3rd 2007 -

VI opened a new data centre in Manchester this month to cope with growth and future demands, which was implemented with great success and ahead of schedule. The New Centre in Manchester is equipped with the same level of connectivity & resilience as the London Centre's and is manned by VI engineers. Its main aim is to offer customers a greater choice of location as well as service & continuity options. The Manchester Data centre will primarily be holding Dedicated server hosting, leaving the London data centre to concentrate on Managed & application hosting services.

15th December 2006 - Data Centre Analysts predictions.

In 2005 many analysts were predicting a reduction in available Data Centre space in the United Kingdom and specifically in London where available space was close to being sold out.

This prediction has come true and inevitably led to large price increases in the Hosting Market affecting all companies operating in this space.

Additional impact has been caused by the significant increases in Electricity prices that have been introduced in the last quarter of 2006.

Whilst Virtual Internet has worked closely with it's suppliers throughout this period in an attempt to minimise the impact on its' customers it regrettably had to increase prices for the first time in its History. Some of our customers have already been notified of the impact to them and we will be contacting the remainder of customers over the coming weeks to explain the situation.

Current thinking by Industry Analysts indicates a further doubling in costs by 2011! .

We urge all our customers to give this appropriate consideration for the future and ensure that current and likely future Hosting costs are covered in your contracts/dealings with your customers.

For our part we are continuing to work closely with suppliers to ensure best pricing for our customers in London and we are investigating opening additional Data centre(s) in alternative locations.

We'll update you on progress early in the New Year.
